Clashes in Nablus and Silent Displacement in Bedouin Communities in the West Bank

Occupation forces stormed the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank, closing several entrances and main roads, amid violent clashes between Palestinian youths and the occupation forces, resulting in the injury of four Palestinians during the storming of the eastern area of the city, just before settlers prepared to storm the "Joseph's Tomb" site in the same area. Settlers promote that the remains of the prophet Joseph, son of Jacob, peace be upon them, were brought from Egypt and buried in this place, but archaeologists have denied the validity of this narrative, confirming that the site is only a few centuries old and is actually the tomb of a Muslim sheikh named Yusuf Dweikat.

In the northern part of Ramallah, settlers attacked the town of Turmus Ayya early on Monday, burning an agricultural facility and fruit trees, and writing racist slogans on the walls. The United Nations confirmed that it documented at least 24 attacks carried out by settlers against Palestinians over the course of a week, resulting in injuries and material damage. Farhan Haq, the deputy spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, clarified that the violence of the occupation and settlers against Palestinians continues unabated in the West Bank.

In a related context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of the young man Yusuf Al-Amir during the siege of an agricultural facility in the town of Qabatiya south of Jenin, while settlers resumed the bulldozing of Palestinian lands in the village of Umm al-Khair in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron. Palestinian vehicles were also subjected to attacks by settlers in various areas of the West Bank.

In the context of displacement, a Palestinian human rights organization warned of soft displacement and silent cleansing practiced by Israel against Bedouin communities in the northern Jordan Valley, calling for international protection for civilians in the area. It pointed out that the assaults are not random but part of a systematic policy aimed at dismantling the social and economic structure of Palestinians in the Jordan Valley, which constitutes about 30% of the area of the West Bank and includes approximately 70,000 people who rely on agriculture and sheep farming as their main source of livelihood.

Hassan Malihat, the general supervisor of the Bader Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, reported that the number of Bedouin communities in the West Bank reaches 212, of which 64 have been displaced, with around 9,000 displaced individuals. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission confirmed that the occupation and settlers carried out 1,821 assaults in July, resulting in the martyrdom of four Palestinians, while assaults have escalated since the beginning of October, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,013 Palestinians and injuries to about 7,000, in addition to the arrest of more than 18,500.

In the context of the ongoing war on Gaza, Israel, with American support, is waging a genocidal war that has left hundreds of thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, with more than 9,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine threatening the lives of many.
