French President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country has decided to officially recognize the State of Palestine, stressing that this decision comes "in fulfillment of our historic commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace in the Middle East."
Macron added that "the urgent need today is to end the war in Gaza and save civilians," referring to the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Strip and the need for an immediate ceasefire.
