Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi expressed his condemnation and categorical rejection of the dangerous statements issued by officials in the Israeli occupation government, the most recent of which were the statements made by the Israeli Minister of Justice, in which he explicitly called for the annexation of the West Bank and the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over it, in a flagrant violation of international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, and an attempt to undermine all opportunities for a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution and an end to the occupation.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament stressed in a statement issued on Thursday that these statements reflect the expansionist colonial approach pursued by the occupation government, stressing his rejection of its blatant violations in the West Bank, including raids, arrests, expansion of illegal settlements, escalation of military attacks, demolition of homes and infrastructure, and displacement of citizens, in addition to the escalation of attacks by extremist settlers against civilians in the West Bank under the protection of the occupation forces, coinciding with the war of genocide in the Gaza Strip to eliminate all aspects of life and target the Palestinian presence.
Al-Yamahi warned of the danger of these policies, which aim to perpetuate a system of apartheid and domination, stressing that the occupation's continued imposition of new facts on the ground by force will not change the legal status of the Palestinian territories or grant legitimacy to an unacceptable and invalid occupation.
He reiterated his call on the international community, especially the Security Council and the United Nations, to shoulder their legal and humanitarian responsibilities and take urgent action to halt these systematic violations, hold those responsible accountable, provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and support their legitimate struggle to establish an independent, sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital, as this is the only solution to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region.
He stressed that the Arab Parliament will continue its full and unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate national rights, foremost among which are their right to self-determination, return, and the establishment of an independent, sovereign state.
