Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu filed a request on Friday with the Jerusalem District Court to cancel his trial sessions for the next two weeks, after the court rejected a similar request earlier in the day.
Netanyahu argued in his request, submitted through his lawyer, Amit Hadad, that he needed to devote his time and efforts to "top-tier political, national, and security issues" in the wake of the war on Iran and other regional and global developments.
Netanyahu submitted to the court and the public prosecution a "sealed envelope" containing his schedule for the coming week, part of which stems from deliberations and "other matters that cannot be written down at this time, in addition to dynamics and developments occurring all the time."
Netanyahu's lawyer added in the request that "other developments may arise that would alter the prime minister's schedule on a daily or even hourly basis."
