On Thursday, the President of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, Younis Al-Khatib, discussed with the British Minister of Health, MP Wes Streeting, the critical health and humanitarian challenges in Palestine, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
During his meeting with the British Minister of Health in London, Al-Khatib provided a comprehensive briefing on the catastrophic state of the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip and the worsening health and humanitarian challenges facing the association in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip and the escalating incursions and violence by the Israeli occupation army and settlers in the West Bank.
Al-Khatib reviewed the deteriorating state of Gaza's health system, noting that it was on the verge of complete collapse.
He explained that the association continues, despite the enormous challenges, to provide ambulance, emergency, and healthcare services through its hospitals, clinics, and medical points, despite a sharp decline in operational capacity, a severe shortage of essential medicines, and a fuel crisis that threatens the continuity of these vital services.
