NGOs in Gaza: Aid distribution centers turned into ambushes

Amjad Shawa, director of the Gaza NGO Network, said Sunday morning that what is happening at aid distribution centers in the Gaza Strip poses a direct threat to the lives of residents, warning of the worsening famine imposed by the occupation.

Al-Shawa confirmed that more than 126 martyrs have fallen since the aid distribution centers began operating in the Gaza Strip, adding that "the occupation is misleading the world with aid centers to cover up the famine," emphasizing that "the Gaza Strip has reached an advanced stage of famine imposed by the occupation."

He explained that "the new aid distribution mechanism poses a direct threat to the lives of Gaza's residents," noting that "armed soldiers are running aid distribution centers in the Strip," and that "residents of the Strip are forced to go to these centers due to hunger."

Al-Shawa pointed out that "aid distribution centers have turned into ambushes targeting civilians directly," adding that they "aimed to snipe more victims and starve the people of the Gaza Strip."

Concluding his remarks, Amjad Al-Shawa called for "legal prosecution of the humanitarian organization that caused the deaths of 126 martyrs."
