The father of an Israeli prisoner demands that Netanyahu be forced to stop the war and release the prisoners.

The father of an Israeli prisoner who appeared in a video posted by the Qassam Brigades on Saturday called on Israelis to confront Benjamin Netanyahu's government and force it to halt its war of extermination in the Gaza Strip in order to release the prisoners.

Avi Haim, the father of Israeli prisoner Yosef Haim in the Gaza Strip, said on Saturday that "the country's internal problems have distracted attention from the issue of the detainees."

In an interview with the official Israeli Broadcasting Authority, Haim called for "an immediate confrontation with the government to force it to stop the war in the Gaza Strip in order to release the prisoners."

"I feel that public attention has been diverted from the issue of prisoners," he said.

He added, "All the internal problems currently occurring, such as the dismissal of the head of the Shin Bet and the attorney general, are making us forget the prisoners in Gaza."

He stressed that "the government must be confronted and forced to stop the war."

This comes shortly after the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, released a video clip of two Israeli detainees, one of whom is ill.

The two Israeli detainees are: Yosef Haim and Elkana Bohbot.

The Al-Qassam Brigades have repeatedly warned, in previous statements, of Israel's procrastination in resuming the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the risks it poses to the lives of prisoners due to Israel's deliberate bombing of the sites where they are located.

Tel Aviv estimates that there are 59 Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, 21 of whom are still alive. Meanwhile, more than 9,500 Palestinians are languishing in its prisons, suffering torture, starvation, and medical neglect, many of whom have died, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.
