Axios news website quoted US officials as saying on Sunday that US President Donald Trump wants his Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, to negotiate with Iran to conclude a new nuclear agreement later this year.
The website quoted Israeli and Arab officials as saying that Witkoff "needs to become more familiar with the region and its conflicts."
