UN: More than 376,000 Gazans have returned to the north since Monday

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that more than 376,000 Palestinians returned to the northern Gaza Strip between Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon.

The office explained that half of these displaced persons are men, a quarter are women and the other quarter are children.

OCHA relied on figures from a working group of several organizations that set up census points throughout the Strip.

“Pregnant or lactating women, the elderly, people with disabilities, people with chronic diseases or in need of urgent medical care, or unaccompanied minors are among the key vulnerable groups of displaced people who have made this difficult journey on foot,” the office said.
