Hebrew media: Netanyahu confirmed to have prostate cancer

Channel 12 confirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Netanyahu's office announced that he will undergo a prostatectomy on Sunday.

Netanyahu, 75, underwent an examination last Wednesday at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, where doctors discovered a urinary tract infection resulting from benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Netanyahu's office said he had been taking antibiotics since the condition was discovered, and they had successfully treated the infection.

Netanyahu's office confirmed that the cabinet meeting scheduled for Sunday will take place as planned.
