Iran denies US claims of attempted assassination of Trump, calls it a conspiracy

Iran's foreign ministry said that the accusation that Tehran is seeking to assassinate current and former US officials is false and has been proven to be a lie, in response to US allegations that Iran is seeking to assassinate Donald Trump, who was elected US president.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said that "repeating the accusation is a conspiracy by the Zionist entity and Iran's enemies to complicate issues between Washington and Tehran."

The ministry stressed that Tehran will use all legitimate and legal means at the domestic and international levels to obtain its rights.

Yesterday, Friday, American accusations returned again regarding Iran’s involvement in an attempt to assassinate Trump, days after his re-election as President of the United States.

The Associated Press reported that the US Department of Justice has unveiled criminal charges related to an "Iranian plot" to assassinate Trump before the election.

The American ABC News network quoted unnamed security sources as saying that three people were charged in an Iranian plan to assassinate Trump and Iranian opponents.

According to the Associated Press, a criminal indictment filed in federal court in Manhattan, New York, showed that an unnamed Iranian Revolutionary Guard official instructed an agent last September to devise a plan to monitor and eventually assassinate Trump.

The criminal indictment said the official told the agent, who was identified as Farhad Shakeri, that if he could not come up with a plan by then, Iran would hold off on its plan until after the presidential election, because the official believed Trump would lose and it would be easier to assassinate him then.

According to the criminal indictment, Shakeri told the FBI that he did not intend to present a plan to assassinate Trump within the seven days requested by the Iranian official.
