Saudi Arabia delivers second batch of aid to Palestine

Minister of Finance Omar Bitar received the second installment of the grant provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the State of Palestine, amounting to ten million dollars, with the aim of alleviating the effects of the Israeli occupation’s aggression on our people.

The Ministry of Finance stated in a statement today, Tuesday, that the handover took place at the headquarters of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Amman, during a meeting between Al-Baytar and the non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Palestine, Consul General in Jerusalem, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairy.

Al-Baytar appreciated the steadfast historical position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards Palestine, and its support for its legitimate rights and the establishment of its independent state, conveying the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa to the Kingdom and its leadership for their permanent political, economic and humanitarian support.

He praised the depth of relations between the two countries and the humanitarian, relief and development contributions provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the benefit of the Palestinian people over the past years.

Al-Baytar stressed the importance of this support to alleviate the financial crisis that the State of Palestine is suffering from as a result of the occupation’s piracy of clearance funds and the doubling of deductions after the aggression on the Gaza Strip.

He called for more Arab efforts and intensification to support the rights of our people and address the humanitarian and economic conditions resulting from the recent Israeli aggression and oblige it to cease fire in Gaza.

In turn, Ambassador Al-Sudairy stressed that this support comes under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, based on their keenness to support the Palestinian people and their just cause at all levels.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced, starting last September, that it would provide monthly financial support to the State of Palestine to mitigate the repercussions of the Israeli aggression on our people, as Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa received the first installment of the Saudi grant.
