West Bank: Israeli occupation forces launch a large-scale arrest campaign

The Israeli occupation forces launched a wide-scale arrest campaign in the West Bank at dawn and this morning, Tuesday.


In Ramallah, the occupation forces arrested Abla Saadat, the wife of the imprisoned Secretary-General of the Popular Front, Ahmed Saadat, from her home in Al-Bireh.


Meanwhile, these forces arrested Tahrir Badran Jaber after raiding her home in Beitunia, west of Ramallah, and Birzeit University student Duaa Al-Qadi from her home in Al-Bireh.


Other forces also arrested journalist Qutaiba Omar Hamdan from Beitunia, the boy Rami Faeq Ishtiya (17 years old) from the town of Kafr Naama west of Ramallah, and the young man Amjad Kanaan Hamed from the village of Beitin east of Ramallah, after raiding and searching their homes.


The occupation soldiers also vandalized the memorial to the martyr Muhammad Murad al-Deek in the town of Kafr Naama, and took down the Fatah and Palestinian flags from the town.


In Nablus, the occupation forces arrested three young men: Yazan Ishtiya, Ahmed Ali Al-Shafei, and Ahmed Kayed Hashash in Balata camp.


Meanwhile, other forces stormed the village of Madama, raided and searched a house, ransacked its contents, and arrested the young man, Suleiman Marouf.


In Bethlehem, the occupation forces arrested Makram Tawfiq Khalifa (22 years old), after raiding his father’s house, searching it and tampering with its contents.


In Hebron, the occupation forces arrested: Ahmed Akram Abu Muqaddam from the village of Kharsa, Arif Marai Zaidat, Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Movement Ali Darwish Zaidat, Musa Abu Sakout from Bani Naim in the east, Saed Ayoub Al-Hawamdeh, and Youssef Ali Al-Hawamdeh from the town of As-Samu in the south.


These forces also stormed the village of Susya, raided the home of the head of the village council, Jihad al-Nawaj’a, searched it, ransacked its contents, and handed his son, Muhammad, a summons to report to their intelligence agency, and tore up pictures of the late President Yasser Arafat.


It also raided the Ashkara School near the so-called Susya camp and the Carmel area in Masafer Yatta and seized a number of citizens' vehicles.


In Jenin, the occupation forces stormed the town of Ya'bad at dawn and arrested the two young men, Osama Khalil Amarneh and Samer Mahmoud Masharqa, after raiding and searching their parents' homes.


In Salfit, the occupation forces arrested: Muhammad Ibrahim Souf, William Talib Daoud, and Osama Yassin Shamlawi, after raiding their homes and ransacking their contents in the village of Haris.
