WHO: Healthcare facilities in the West Bank are under threat

“Healthcare facilities in the West Bank are under threat, with more than 480 attacks recorded since October 2023,” Hanan Balkhi, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, said on Saturday.

Balkhi's statements came during a visit she was conducting in the occupied West Bank with the aim of reviewing the health situation directly, discussing the challenges, and finding ways to enhance coordination for the health response.

The UN official added, in a video clip published by the United Nations on its account on the “X” platform, that “health care facilities in the West Bank are under threat, with more than 480 attacks recorded since October 2023.”
