Washington warns of “escalation” in Lebanon: it will harm Israel’s security and the stability of the region

Today (Wednesday), the United States warned of an “escalation” in Lebanon after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to carry out a military operation in this country, as the outbreak of a conflict would only harm Israel’s security, according to what was reported by Agence France-Presse.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters: “We do not want to see an escalation of the conflict. It would only lead to more loss of life for both the Israeli and Lebanese residents, and would cause enormous damage to Israel’s security and stability in the region.”
