Palestinian Prisoners' Authority warns of the dangers of ignoring the treatment of minor Waseem Nassar

The Prisoners' and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs Authority warned on Thursday against ignoring the health condition of the injured minor prisoner, Wassim Nassar (16 years old), from Hebron Governorate, who is currently detained in Section 13 of Ofer Prison.

The Commission’s lawyer was able to visit the minor Nassar yesterday and see his health condition, as he was injured by live bullets in his right leg when he was arrested. He was then transferred to Soroka Hospital, underwent surgery, and then to Ofer Prison.

The authority’s lawyer conveyed, through the minor Nassar’s words, that iron rods and (platinum) screws were implanted in his leg to stabilize the bone that was shattered as a result of the injury, and that he is still suffering from aches and pains, and is not given any kind of medication.

The Commission stressed the need for medical, legal and humanitarian institutions to exert all pressure to provide real treatment for prisoner Nassar, and not leave him to the capriciousness and hatred of the prison guards.
