Washington is concerned about the ICC issuing arrest warrants against Netanyahu, which may jeopardize the truce in Gaza.

The United States of America and its Western allies have escalated the pressure on the International Criminal Court in The Hague, in an attempt to prevent it from issuing arrest warrants against Israeli officials on charges related to the war on the besieged Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing for 206 days and has resulted in the death, injury, and loss of more than 115,000 civilians.


Bloomberg quoted sources it described as “informed” as saying, “The United States and its allies are concerned about the possibility of the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants against Israeli officials at a time when negotiations are approaching a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, which may "It puts the agreement at risk."


The report stated, “The concern is that Israel will withdraw from the truce if the International Criminal Court continues to issue arrest warrants,” according to what the American agency reported, citing two sources who requested anonymity. The sources said that “the G7 countries have begun a quiet diplomatic effort to convey this message to The court is based in The Hague.


The belief among Israeli officials is strengthened that the International Criminal Court is preparing to issue arrest warrants against senior government officials on charges related to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, according to what five Israeli and foreign officials confirmed to the American newspaper The New York Times. They expressed their concern about the possible repercussions of such an issue.


The officials who spoke to the New York Times do not rule out that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is among the people whose names may be mentioned in the arrest warrant. Meanwhile, Israeli officials are concerned about the possibility that the court may issue arrest warrants against senior political and military officials due to violations of international humanitarian law in Gaza.
