American police arrest 93 pro-Palestine students at the University of California

American police arrested 93 students at the University of Southern California who participated in protests against Israel, which began at the university a few days ago and spread to universities in different states.

The University of Southern California, one of the leading universities in the United States, witnessed demonstrations to protest the devastating war waged by Israel on the Gaza Strip about 7 months ago, while the police intervened against the students.

The Los Angeles Police, which did not allow students to set up tents in certain parts of the campus, began issuing warnings to the demonstrators to disperse.

The police closed the main campus to the public, and took extensive security measures in the surrounding area.

While some students wanted to set up tents in a section where demonstrators were busy at noon, the university administration did not allow this and the students later faced police intervention.

Earlier, about 200 students gathered to protest against Israel's war on Gaza and its measures against Palestinian civilians on the University of Texas campus, while police arrested 17 students who claimed they were leading the group.

A stampede occurred between the security forces, cavalry units, and students, and the police called on the demonstrators to disperse the gathering, while the students continued their protest by sitting in the university garden, and then the police again arrested some of the demonstrators.

On April 18, pro-Palestinian students at Columbia University in the United States began a sit-in in the campus garden to protest the university’s continued financial investments in companies that support the occupation of Palestine and the “genocide” in Gaza. 108 students were arrested during the demonstrations.

Pro-Palestinian student demonstrations later spread to other leading universities in the United States, such as New York, Yale, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and North Carolina.
