Field preparations.. Israel confirms moving forward with the Rafah operation despite warnings

The Israeli occupation army renewed its assertion on Wednesday that it will "move forward" in its broad military operation against Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, claiming the presence of 4 combat units affiliated with the "Hamas" movement in the city.

In detail, Israeli government spokesman David Mincer stated in a press conference today that Israel "will move forward with its operation to target Hamas in Rafah."

Mincer claimed, "There are four Hamas battalions remaining in Rafah, which cannot be protected from Israel. We will attack them."

He also revealed that "two reserve brigades...were mobilized to carry out defensive and tactical missions in Gaza."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously stressed that Israel will move forward with the attack on Rafah, the last refuge for more than 1.5 million Palestinians, the majority of whom are displaced, according to the United Nations.

While the United States, in all its official statements, opposes any ground attack on Rafah, the Broadcasting Corporation said yesterday, Tuesday, that the Israeli army is preparing to invade Rafah “very soon,” in an operation that “includes the evacuation of large numbers of residents” and with American approval.

Reuters published satellite images indicating the expansion of camps near Khan Yunis and Rafah, as the Israeli army intends to evacuate refugees from there before the start of the military operation.

The pictures showed comparisons between the 7th of this month, when the plots of land were empty, and the 23rd, when several white tents were set up.

An official at the Israeli Ministry of Security said that they had prepared 40,000 tents, each of which could accommodate between 10 and 12 people, for the Palestinians who would be transferred from Rafah.
