Hebrew radio claims: Türkiye tried to market a security plan related to Gaza

Hebrew Kan Radio claimed, on Wednesday morning, that Turkey had proposed, in the first two months of the war in the Gaza Strip, to some Arab countries to develop a plan for a security settlement that would include the deployment of joint forces in the Strip.

According to the Hebrew Radio, this proposal was presented within the framework of what is described as the day after the war.

It quoted an Arab diplomatic source familiar with the details as saying that Turkey had offered to present the plan to the United States and Israel, but the Arab countries, including Egypt, did not accept it.

According to the same source, the Arab countries categorically refused to hear about arrangements that included stationing forces on their behalf in the Gaza Strip, but a development occurred in the matter recently after Arab countries, including Egypt, offered to deploy forces on their behalf in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, within the framework of the two-state solution.

The Arab diplomat said, according to what the Hebrew radio claimed, that Turkey is trying in every way to influence what is happening in Gaza and to position itself as a major player, especially in front of the Americans, while Egypt views Ankara’s attempts as wanting to establish a foothold on the Palestinian arena.

He added: It seems that Turkey is trying to replace Qatar, in light of the failure of the negotiations led by Doha, and for this reason, meetings have been repeated in recent days between Turkish officials and Hamas leaders.
