Euro-Med: “Israel” restricts the arrival of aid and kills those who try to receive it in Gaza

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Observatory said that the Israeli forces not only starved the Palestinians in the northern Gaza Valley, but also killed dozens of them while trying to obtain the limited aid that arrived there.

The Observatory confirmed in a statement that this comes within the framework of perpetuating the crime of genocide committed by “Israel” against the civilian population in the Gaza Strip since October 7 of last year.

Euro-Med documented shocking testimonies about the Israeli occupation killing dozens of Palestinians and wounding others during their gathering on Thursday, January 11, on Al-Rashid Street, west of Gaza City, to receive humanitarian aid, holding the United Nations agencies responsible for their inability to ensure appropriate mechanisms for delivering aid to the population.

He stated that the information he received indicated that “nearly 50 Palestinians were martyred and dozens of others were injured, after the Israeli occupation army used quadcopter drones to open fire on Palestinians who had gathered to receive quantities of flour via United Nations trucks.”

According to the certificates; “Dozens of residents gathered on Al-Rashid Street, west of Gaza City, which was destroyed by Israeli bulldozers in the past weeks, waiting for the arrival of trucks carrying flour, before everyone was surprised by the arrival of quadcopter drones that began shooting at them and caused a large number of martyrs and wounded among their ranks.” “.

He stated that “the residents fled the area and transported the wounded they could, and the martyrs remained in the place.” Later that same day, the trucks arrived and hundreds of residents gathered again to try to receive a share of flour, at a time when hundreds of thousands in the northern Gaza Valley were suffering from hunger for the fourth month in a row.

According to the testimonies documented by the Observatory, residents “were forced to travel distances of up to 10 kilometers to reach the area, while there was no system in place when receiving aid. Based on the testimonies received by Euro-Med, there are fears of victims falling as a result of the severe crowding that occurred in the area.” After the trucks arrive.”

The Euro-Med Monitor stated that “residents transported the dead on animal-drawn vehicles from the area hours after their martyrdom.”

He confirmed that the gathering of residents was repeated in the following days, with news circulating about the arrival of additional trucks carrying aid. Hundreds had been gathering since seven in the morning, and soon Israeli drones targeted them with gunfire.

Citizen M. D. (38 years old) told the Euro-Med team: “People gathered on Al-Rashid Street at seven o’clock in the morning on Monday, January 14, and at eleven o’clock the quadcopters arrived and continued to fire for an hour and a half, which led to a number of martyrs and wounded. “So far, no aid has arrived.”

He stated that “his son (18 years old) also went to the area and waited for hours until one truck arrived, and he tried with hundreds of citizens to reach it until he was trampled and fainted. He was unable to obtain any quantity of flour, because the method of distribution was flawed and inhumane.”

Euro-Med confirmed that “Israel” is using starvation as a tool of war and political pressure against Palestinian civilians, which falls within the crime of genocide, and requires urgent measures to enable Palestinians to obtain food, drink, and all their basic needs without obstacles and without targeting or intimidation.

Euro-Med held the United Nations and its humanitarian agencies responsible for “the shortcomings and inability to deliver humanitarian aid in a decent and appropriate manner to hundreds of thousands of residents who are suffering from real hunger for the fourth month in a row, as well as its silence regarding the Israeli occupation army’s killing of civilians while they were trying to receive aid.”

Euro-Med pointed out that “the United Nations spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, announced that only three shipments out of 21 life-saving aid shipments were able to reach the northern Gaza Valley, between January 1 and 10.”

Euro-Med stressed that “this statement does not absolve the United Nations of responsibility for what is happening, by submitting to the conditions and plans of the Israeli occupation army, including passing on its propaganda attempts that appeared during the Israeli team’s plea before the International Court of Justice, when it claimed to facilitate the passage of humanitarian aid and facilitate the arrival of humanitarian aid.” An international delegation to the northern Gaza Valley.”
