Scottish Prime Minister Hamza Yousaf called on the British government to take action to stop indiscriminate Israeli attacks in Gaza.
He said: "The British government's refusal to do so is shameful. It is time for Britain to make clear to Israel that its actions in Gaza went far beyond a legitimate response to the Hamas attacks on October 7."
Referring to calls by government ministers to encourage immigration from Gaza and the establishment of Israeli settlements there, he said: “If that is not equivalent to ethnic cleansing, I don’t know what is. Gaza is occupied Palestinian territory and will be part of the future Palestinian state. The residents of Gaza should not be displaced or deported.” Forcibly from Gaza.
