At dawn today, Thursday, the Jerusalem Police arrested a large merchant in possession of a firearm and quantities of drugs in the town of Qatanna, northwest of Jerusalem, after an elaborate ambush that lasted for 7 continuous hours.
The media spokesman for the police , Colonel Louay Irzeigat , stated that confirmed information was received by the Anti-Narcotics Branch in the Jerusalem Suburbs Police about the movements of a drug dealer who has been wanted for several years and has been sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison. He carries it openly while selling these illegal substances and vehicles. Immediately, a force from the branch moved and set up an elaborate ambush for him, which lasted for 7 continuous hours. Upon his arrival, the force stopped the vehicle, and he tried to shoot at the force from his weapon, but it controlled him.
Colonel Erzigat added that during the search of the vehicle he was traveling in, 7 pieces of a suspected drug of hashish, 36 suspected ecstasy pills, ammunition and a firearm were seized.
