The Executive Director of the World Food Program, Cindy McCain, confirmed that there is a comprehensive famine in the northern Gaza Strip that is moving south.
McCain confirmed, according to a report published on the organization’s official website, that the population in the Gaza Strip suffers from severe food shortages and food insecurity after seven months of war.
She indicated that her statements come based on what the program saw on the ground, adding, “There is real horror, and it is very difficult to look at or hear it, hoping that a ceasefire will be reached, and that feeding these people, especially in the north, will begin in a much faster way” .
Humanitarian organizations have warned for months that the Israeli aggression against Gaza has pushed the Strip towards the brink of famine.
