Biden: Israel does not allow sufficient aid to be delivered to the Gaza Strip

US President Joe Biden confirmed on Wednesday that Israeli efforts to enhance aid access to the Gaza Strip "are still insufficient," noting that Washington "is waiting for the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to fulfill his obligations."

During a joint press conference held at the White House with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Biden called on Netanyahu to allow more aid to enter the sector, which has been subjected to a devastating 187-day Israeli war.

Biden said, days after a tense call between him and the Israeli Prime Minister, that he was "frank and clear with Netanyahu in confirming that Israel must allow more humanitarian aid to enter Gaza."

On the other hand, Biden urged the Hamas movement to respond to a proposal submitted by the mediators for a truce in Gaza that would include the release of prisoners. He said, "The matter is currently related to Hamas. It must move forward with the proposal that was put forward."
