Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil said that the United States is waging a "multifaceted aggression" against Venezuela, at a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Committee in Geneva, Switzerland.
Gil stated in his speech during the 139th session of the Committee that “Venezuela remains under a constant threat from foreign powers that seek to encroach (our country).”
He reported that US measures against the South American country had a "negative" impact on the rights of its people.
Gil noted that the United States and other countries have adopted more than 930 “restrictive or punitive” measures against Venezuela.
He warned that these measures significantly reduced the state's ability to obtain the resources and services necessary to fully meet the needs of the Venezuelan people.
