Today, Sunday, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the US administration decided to return to the decision to stop all forms of cooperation and financial support for projects in settlements in the West Bank.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation stated, "The American administration decided to return to the decision to stop all forms of cooperation and financial support for scientific, technical and technological projects in settlements in the West Bank."
The authority quoted official sources as saying that "the new decision constitutes a reversal of the decision of the administration of former US President Donald Trump, which legitimized the official US authorities to support projects in the settlements."
And the decision of the administration of US President Joe Biden came to constitute an annulment of the Trump administration’s decision and a return to work according to the Obama administration’s decision, given that the United States considers the West Bank occupied lands and settlement therein is illegal.
The peace process between Israel and the Palestinians has been stalled for years, due to Israel's continued construction of settlements on the lands of the West Bank, which the Palestinian side rejects, and stresses that settlement represents a major obstacle on the path to peace.
