Strasbourg - (AFP) - A 24-year-old Syrian man who suffers from mental illness stabbed his 57-year-old father to death on Saturday night in Metz, in eastern France , according to identical sources.
"A young man killed his father with a knife, in a somewhat heavy psychological context," the region's governor told AFP, referring to a "family tragedy."
For its part, the prosecution office in charge of the investigation stated that "a stabbing murder took place last night in Metz," explaining that "the investigations are still ongoing."
And police sources indicated that the man "killed his father with a knife" before his "brothers managed to control him."
The firefighters took care of the five brothers of the perpetrator because they were injured.
The perpetrator was placed in police custody, knowing that he suffers from schizophrenia.
