More than 25,000 cases of influenza occur in the United States each week

LOS ANGELES (Xinhua) -- More than 25,000 hospitalizations for influenza were reported in the United States in the week ending Dec. 3, according to data released by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday.

And the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that the incidence of seasonal influenza remains high across the country.

At least 13 million cases, 120,000 hospitalizations and 7,300 deaths have been recorded from the flu this season in the United States, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Meanwhile, 7 flu-related deaths among children were reported this week, bringing the toll of flu-related deaths among children this season in the country to 21.
