The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) issued a serious warning regarding the health situation of children in the Gaza Strip, confirming that most of the children examined by its medical teams are suffering from severe malnutrition and weakness.
UNRWA indicated that these children are at risk of death if they do not receive the urgent treatment they need, highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region.
In a post on the 'X' platform, UNRWA reported that more than 50,000 children in Gaza have been killed or injured since October 7, 2023, reflecting the scale of the disaster faced by children amid the ongoing aggression.
The organization also confirmed that one million women and girls in the Gaza Strip are facing 'mass starvation' as a result of the Israeli blockade and the ongoing war, complicating the humanitarian situation further.
UNRWA called on the international community to take immediate action to save children in Gaza and to stop the war that directly targets them, warning that the situation could worsen if these conditions persist.
These statements from UNRWA serve as an urgent call for international responsibility regarding what is happening in Gaza, as children are the most affected by these crises.
Concerns are growing about the spread of diseases and malnutrition among children in Gaza, necessitating a rapid response from humanitarian organizations and concerned countries.
UNRWA calls on Israel to stop this war on children.
