Escalation of settler and occupation forces' attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem: Injuries and forced displacement operations

Cities and villages in the West Bank continue to face an escalating wave of systematic attacks carried out by Israeli occupation forces in cooperation with extremist settler groups. These field operations directly target individuals, properties, and agricultural lands, leading to injuries and the arrest of a number of citizens during raids on various areas.

In Bethlehem Governorate, medical sources confirmed that a Palestinian citizen was injured by live bullets fired by occupation forces in an area near the apartheid wall. This coincided with a widespread arrest campaign carried out by Israeli military units after raiding citizens' homes in several towns, amid strict security measures imposed by the occupation authorities.

Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus city, witnessed a military operation during which occupation forces stormed the camp's alleys, forcing a number of Palestinian families to leave their homes at gunpoint. This step comes in the context of ongoing field operations aimed at tightening the noose on residents in Nablus city and its surroundings and destroying the infrastructure of the camps.

In a dangerous development, more than 50 armed settlers from the 'Price Tag' and 'Hilltop Youth' gangs carried out a brutal attack on the village of Talfit, south of Nablus. The attackers launched from the 'Yish Kodish' settlement and its surrounding outposts, targeting the homes of unarmed citizens with stones and cold weapons, resulting in direct injuries and damage to private property.

Local sources reported that the initial settler attack resulted in injuries to three Palestinians, in addition to smashing the windows of four homes and causing severe damage to ten vehicles. The villagers tried to confront the settlers with their bare chests before the occupation forces intervened to provide protection for the attackers and disperse the Palestinians by force.

The number of injured in Talfit village rose to about 25 people during the violent confrontations that erupted after the occupation army stormed the village to support the settlers. The injuries varied between live and metal bullets, tear gas suffocation, in addition to stab wounds and injuries resulting from stone-throwing, with some cases described as serious.

In the Ramallah countryside, settlers continued their war on trees and stones, as extremist groups uprooted and destroyed dozens of olive trees in the plain of Turmus Ayya town. The neighboring village of Al-Mughayyir is also subjected to semi-daily attacks and repeated military incursions aimed at intimidating farmers and preventing them from accessing their vital agricultural lands.

As for the northern Jordan Valley, forced displacement policies escalated, as continuous settler attacks forced seven Palestinian families to evacuate their homes in Khirbet al-Mita. In Khirbet Makhoul, residents confronted similar assault attempts, amid warnings of Israeli plans aimed at emptying the area of its indigenous inhabitants for the sake of settlement expansion.

Occupied Jerusalem was not immune from these attacks, as the Jerusalem Governorate reported that settlers infiltrated the town of Sur Baher and vandalized citizens' property. The attacks included disabling the tires of more than 10 trucks and private vehicles during the dawn hours, a step that has been repeated many times as part of what is known as hate crimes targeting the Palestinian presence.

Observers and Palestinians believe that this integration of roles between the occupation army and settler gangs represents an official policy aimed at imposing a new demographic reality. These coordinated attacks seek to push residents towards forced migration by making their daily lives impossible, and facilitating full control over vast areas of West Bank land.

Settler attacks and army incursions reflect an organized policy aimed at controlling land, displacing residents, and creating a new demographic reality.
