Informed sources revealed expectations of an imminent announcement to form an "international body" to undertake the task of administering the affairs of the Gaza Strip before the end of this year.
According to Arab and Western official sources, this step comes in the context of the next phase of the ceasefire agreement that was reached through American mediation.
Available details indicate that the new body will be named the "Peace Council" and will be entrusted with the task of fully supervising the reconstruction process of the Gaza Strip.
The body will be granted a mandate from the United Nations for a period of two years, with the possibility of renewing this period as needed.
The body is expected to consist of about twelve leaders from countries in the Middle East and Western countries, with the aim of ensuring broad international and regional support for the process of achieving stability in the sector.
The new body will oversee the reconstruction of Gaza with a UN mandate for two years.
