Amnesty International stated today, Friday, that there have been more than 860 violent attacks by settlers in the occupied West Bank during the year 2025.
The international organization clarified that settlers "enjoy near-total impunity for their attacks on Palestinians," emphasizing that world leaders have a legal obligation to dismantle the Israeli occupation and end the "apartheid system" in the West Bank.
Previously, Agnes Callamard, the Secretary General of Amnesty International, stated in an earlier report that the organization "documented the genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip," explaining that the apartheid system and illegal occupation practiced by Israel in the West Bank have escalated into increasing acts of violence.
This comes as the West Bank has witnessed a wide escalation from the occupation army and settlers since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza about two years ago, where 1,057 Palestinians were martyred and 10,000 were injured, and Israeli forces arrested more than 20,000 Palestinians, including 1,600 children, according to official Palestinian data.
The Israeli army, according to United Nations data, carried out 83 "punitive demolition" operations in the West Bank over two years, coinciding with the genocide in Gaza.
Attacks by settlers on Palestinian farmers in the West Bank increase every year with the onset of the olive-picking season, as the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 158 attacks since the beginning of the current season.
Settlers enjoy near-total impunity for their attacks on Palestinians.
