Statement issued by the presidency regarding the field executions carried out by Hamas in Gaza.

The Palestinian presidency strongly condemned today, Tuesday, the recent field executions carried out by Hamas that targeted dozens of citizens in the Gaza Strip, outside the law and without any fair trials.

The presidency described these crimes as heinous and unacceptable under any justification. It emphasized that what occurred represents a crime and a blatant violation of human rights, a serious infringement on the principle of the rule of law, and reflects the movement's insistence on imposing its authority through force and terrorism, at a time when our people in Gaza are suffering the consequences of war, destruction, and siege.

The presidency affirms that the law is the only reference, and that any practices of this kind undermine the unity of the Palestinian people and its social fabric, and are completely contradictory to national and moral values and to the ongoing efforts to unify the institutions of the Palestinian state under one authority, one law, and one weapon.

The presidency calls for an immediate halt to these violations, for the protection of unarmed citizens, and for ensuring accountability for all those involved in these crimes, within the framework of the law and the legitimate Palestinian judiciary.

The presidency also stressed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the State of Palestine, and that restoring the rule of law and legitimate institutions there is the only way to end the state of chaos, and to rebuild national trust based on justice, accountability, and respect for the dignity of the Palestinian human being.

The presidency holds Hamas fully responsible for these crimes that harm the supreme interests of our people, in terms of seeking to entrench Hamas's rule over the Gaza Strip, which provides justifications for the occupation and will hinder reconstruction, entrench division, and prevent the establishment of a free and independent State of Palestine.
