Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirmed in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly that the world is experiencing stark contradictions, stating: "I speak of peace here while some of my people are being killed; there is no development without peace, no prosperity amidst wars, no peace without justice, and no justice without human rights."
He emphasized the need to immediately stop the Israeli occupation's assaults, withdraw the occupation from Lebanese territories, and release the prisoners, while calling for an immediate halt to the tragedies in Gaza.
He also pointed out that Lebanon is facing the largest displacement situation in history relative to its population, calling for cooperation with Syria that transcends the burdens of the past.
There is no development without peace, no prosperity amidst wars, no peace without justice, and no justice without human rights.
