Families of the prisoners urge Trump to pressure Netanyahu to resume negotiations with Hamas.

The families of Israeli prisoners in Gaza called on U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday to pressure the government to resume negotiations with Hamas regarding a prisoner exchange deal and to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

In his speech before the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Trump said: "We must end the war in Gaza and negotiate for peace and the immediate return of the hostages." He added: "We have succeeded in bringing back most of the hostages in Gaza, and we want to bring back all the remaining ones at once (...) We must not yield to Hamas's demands, and they must release the hostages immediately."

In response, the families of the prisoners welcomed Trump's statements in a statement, saying: "It is time to work towards a comprehensive agreement to return all 48 abducted individuals and end the war in Gaza."
