Medical sources announced today, Monday, that Al-Rantisi Children's Hospital and the Eye Hospital have completely ceased operations due to the ongoing targeting by the Israeli occupation of the areas surrounding the two hospitals, in addition to the destruction of a health center affiliated with medical relief in Gaza City.
The sources clarified that Al-Rantisi Hospital had been subjected to direct shelling a few days ago, causing severe damage, while the Eye Hospital is the only general hospital providing eye services in the Gaza Governorate. Al-Rantisi Hospital is also the primary center for services that are only available there.
The occupation systematically targets the health service system in the Gaza Governorate as part of the genocide policy it is waging against the sector, as all health facilities and hospitals have become without safe routes allowing patients and the injured to reach them.
The sources indicated that patients and the injured are facing extreme difficulty in reaching the Jordanian field hospital and Al-Quds Hospital due to the continuous shelling.
In a related context, the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, announced that the hospital's departments have become overcrowded with patients and the injured to the extent that they can no longer accommodate more, confirming a significant shortage of most essential medicines and medical supplies, amid the occupation's prevention of sufficient medical devices and medicines from entering the sector.
