Singapore plans to impose sanctions on leaders of colonial groups.

Singapore said on Monday that it will impose targeted sanctions on leaders of Israeli settler groups and that it will recognize a Palestinian state when conditions are favorable.

Western countries and others are taking an increasingly hardline stance against settler groups and some Israeli officials who incite violence, as global recognition of a Palestinian state grows.

Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan criticized Israeli politicians in a speech delivered in Parliament for discussing the annexation of parts of the West Bank or Gaza.
