Singapore said on Monday that it will impose targeted sanctions on leaders of Israeli settler groups and that it will recognize a Palestinian state when conditions are favorable.
Western countries and others are taking an increasingly hardline stance against settler groups and some Israeli officials who incite violence, as global recognition of a Palestinian state grows.
Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan criticized Israeli politicians in a speech delivered in Parliament for discussing the annexation of parts of the West Bank or Gaza.
Singapore's recognition of a Palestinian state is just a matter of time.
