5 killed, including 3 children, in an Israeli airstrike in the city of Bint Jbeil in southern

Five people, including three children, were killed on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike targeting the city of Bint Jbeil in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon, marking a new violation of the ceasefire.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported in a statement that "the Israeli enemy's airstrike with a drone on the city of Bint Jbeil resulted in an updated toll of 5 martyrs, including three children, and two others were injured."

Earlier on Sunday, the National News Agency of Lebanon reported "critical injuries, including children, in the airstrike carried out by an enemy drone in the city of Bint Jbeil," before the new toll was issued.

The Israeli army has intensified its airstrikes over the past three days on towns in southern Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of 3 people and injuries to others.

In October 2023, Israel launched an aggression against Lebanon that escalated in September 2024 into a full-scale war, resulting in the deaths of more than 4,000 people and injuries to around 17,000 others.

Despite reaching a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel in November 2024, the latter has violated it more than 4,500 times, leading to the deaths of at least 279 people and injuries to 624 others, according to official data.

In defiance of the agreement, Israel continues to occupy 5 Lebanese hills that it seized during the last war, in addition to other areas it has occupied for decades.
