The Italian authorities have decided to exclude Israel from participating in the international tourism fair "TTG Travel Experience 2025," scheduled to be held in Rimini from October 8 to 10, following pressure from the city's municipality due to the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The Mayor of Rimini, Jamil Sadghoulwad, explained that the decision was made due to security concerns and the risk of protests and growing tensions in Italy because of the aggression against Gaza, noting that allowing Israel's participation would turn the event into a large protest venue.
For its part, the organizing company of the fair, Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), announced that the conditions for the participation of the Israeli tourism authority are no longer valid, confirming that Israel's presence in the exhibition halls has become "morally and professionally inappropriate" in light of the ongoing war and destruction in Gaza.
Promoting war, destruction, and death zones as tourist destinations is morally and professionally unacceptable.
