A newspaper reported that about 15 out of every 16 Palestinians killed by the Israeli army in the city of Gaza since March were civilians, based on data collected by an independent organization tracking armed conflicts.
The newspaper explained that this ratio reflects the unprecedented rise in the number of civilian casualties since the escalation of Israeli military action on March 18, where 12,622 Palestinians were martyred and around 54,000 were injured.
According to the organization, the Israeli occupation army carried out more than 3,500 airstrikes on the Gaza Strip during the past six months, resulting in the martyrdom of over 9,500 people, most of whom were civilians.
5 out of every 6 martyrs in Gaza are civilians, which contradicts what the Israeli army claims.
