After two years of this war that transcended the limits of imagination, geography, international and humanitarian law, and divine law, and surpassed international relations and political norms, and after Israel used almost all of its weapons, plans, war ministers, chiefs of staff, reserve and regular soldiers, and tested its weapons and defensive and cyber systems for trade, marketing, and profit, and after the fall, injury, and loss of nearly half a million Palestinians, Netanyahu was unable to achieve what he wanted. It can be said that this man has lost and continues to lose in this war, as he occupied the Gaza Strip but did not declare victory, destroyed everything in it, yet did not achieve surrender, besieged and erased cities that have existed for thousands of years, but did not obtain his captives or his goals.
His army is one of the strongest in the world, yet he did not get what he wanted from a devastated area that contains only scattered groups wandering aimlessly, and a resistance that has suffered significant damage and has turned into what resembles a resistance of ghosts that cannot be defeated no matter how long this war continues, for resistance is the counterpart of occupation.
This man has lost the image of his entity and its references, even his justifications, and he acknowledged this when he said he would choose victory over receiving good eulogies. The loss of Israel's ideal image has been replaced by another image that has led to rejection, siege, condemnation, and an indelible stigma, and Netanyahu has lost the possibility of free integration in the region, placing the Abraham Accords under scrutiny and review after the shocking attack on the State of Qatar, disregarding all calculations for an image of victory that will not come. Netanyahu wanted to eliminate the State of Palestine and dismantle the social and cultural fabric of the Palestinian people, and thus the whole world rose to affirm this right and this existence.
This man has lost his reputation, image, legacy, and everything he wanted to build when he and some of his ministers turned into fugitives from international law and were condemned before the peoples of the world.
This man has lost some of his allies and friends due to his crimes and insistence on them, leading to the formation of a global opinion, or nearly so, demanding economic, cultural, and even sports boycotts, and holding Israel accountable for its actions. This man and his entity have also lost positions of influence and centers of power in many Western societies, which were established over decades of public and secret work. It has now become common to reveal the hidden and speak openly and clearly about the roles played by powerful lobbies in Europe and America, to the extent that Trump himself heard demands for the liberation of Washington, in addition to the liberation of Gaza, during a dinner at a luxury restaurant in the American capital. The demand for the liberation of Washington means that many situations have changed.
Netanyahu, after two years of this war, can look at his society and will know that he has also lost a lot internally in Israel, by weakening institutions, monopolizing decision-making, changing priorities, erasing initiatives, and deepening societal division. Netanyahu can be sure that after two years of war, he cannot claim victory to his audience, as he has completely lost what he claimed regarding restoring security, deterrence, or resolution, as he has not been able to end any threat, erase any front, or triumph over any challenge.
The expansion and multiplicity of fronts is not a sign of strength as much as it is an enhancement of the aggressive role that Israel is driven into in service of the interests of colonial West and its illusions. It will not triumph; rather, it will sink into more wars, and it will not impose its conditions as much as it will be forced to enter into some settlement in the end.
Netanyahu has lost his bet on making Israel stronger, safer, and more controlling; on the contrary, Israel now, after two years of this war, has failed to become the "bully" that dominates the neighborhood, for the neighborhood is wider, deeper, and stronger than that bully thinks, and every bully before and after.
