One third of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons are without charges.

The "Palestinian Prisoners Club" revealed that about one-third of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons are held under administrative detention, without any charges being filed against them.

According to consistent sources, the total number of Palestinian detainees in the occupation's prisons currently stands at approximately 11,100, including 49 women and 400 children, among whom about 3,500 are under administrative detention.

Administrative detention is a military order issued by Israel to imprison individuals on the grounds of "security threats," without any charges being filed, and it can extend up to six months, subject to renewal.

The Prisoners Club stated in a statement on Monday that "the occupation authorities continue to escalate their unprecedented use of administrative detention, which has become one of the most prominent tools that have significantly increased the number of detainees in the occupation's prisons since the onset of the genocide war."

The Prisoners Club added that "the percentage of administrative detainees has reached 32 percent of the total number of prisoners, which is the highest rate compared to those detained, sentenced, and classified as unlawful combatants."

It noted that "during the past two weeks, the occupation has re-arrested dozens administratively, including former prisoners who had previously spent time under administrative detention and were released only a few months ago."

It emphasized that "the occupation's military courts continue to play their role in entrenching the policy of administrative detention through their decisions, which are entirely based on orders from the occupation's intelligence."

The Prisoners Club pointed out that "one of the groups that the occupation continues to target through the policy of administrative detention is journalists, as among the 54 journalists currently detained by the occupation, there are 21 under administrative detention."

On Friday, the Prisoners Club revealed that the Israeli army has carried out 19,000 arrest operations in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since it began its genocide war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.

It clarified in a statement that "the number of arrests among women has exceeded 585 since the start of the genocide war, while more than 1,550 cases of arrest have been recorded among children."

The Prisoners Club added that "77 prisoners have died in the occupation's prisons since October 7, 2023, including 46 from Gaza detainees."

On multiple occasions, human rights centers have warned of the severe torture and serious violations faced by Palestinian prisoners inside the occupation's prisons, the most notable being starvation and denial of medical treatment, which threaten their lives.

Alongside the genocide war on Gaza, the Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have killed at least 1,018 Palestinians and injured about 7,000 others, in addition to arresting more than 19,000, some of whom have been released, according to Palestinian data.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 64,522 deaths and 163,096 injuries among Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, along with hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and famine that has killed 393 Palestinians, including 140 children.
