Save the Children: The occupation kills a child every hour in Gaza

The organization Save the Children confirmed that the number of children who have been martyred in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 20,000 since the beginning of the aggression against the region nearly two years ago.

The organization reported that at least one child is killed every hour by the occupying forces, and that no less than 1,009 children have been martyred under the age of one.

It added that 450 children were born during the war and were martyred before they could grow up.

Earlier, UNICEF confirmed that the war in the Gaza Strip has caused immense losses for children, with at least 50,000 children either martyred or injured, while others face the threat of famine.

It added that more than half a million people in Gaza are trapped amid famine, continuing to be deprived of food, water, and medical assistance, noting that no child will emerge from the terror of bombardment without being affected by trauma.

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, revealed that nearly one million children in the Gaza Strip are deprived of education and are suffering from deep psychological crises, amid the ongoing siege and Israeli attacks.

Lazzarini stated in a previous post on the platform "X" that there are at least 17,000 unaccompanied children or those separated from their families.

On August 7th, the international human rights organization "Human Rights Watch" stated that Israeli attacks on schools in the Gaza Strip will contribute to disrupting education for many years, as repairing and rebuilding them will require significant resources and time, with serious negative repercussions for children, parents, and teachers.
