The Israeli warplanes bombed the Al-Sousi Tower in western Gaza City on Saturday, as part of its intensified targeting of residential buildings in preparation for occupying the city.
A correspondent reported that the Israeli army bombed the Al-Sousi Tower, which consists of 15 floors and contains more than 60 apartments, leveling it to the ground.
The correspondent noted that the tower targeted by the Israeli army is located on Industry Street, close to a facility belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
Before Israel targeted the tower, eyewitnesses reported the evacuation of the Al-Ruya building and the Al-Sousi Tower in Gaza City after they were threatened with bombing by Israel.
Witnesses confirmed that Palestinian families threw their belongings out of the windows after receiving warnings from the Israeli army demanding them to evacuate the two buildings immediately, in preparation for their bombing.
During their escape, the displaced individuals hurriedly carried what remained of their belongings, such as some essential clothing and scraps of food, while the sounds of crying children and women were heard due to the intensity of the Israeli bombardment.
Witnesses pointed out that a disabled Palestinian was seen hastily moving away with his crutch after being bombed by the Israeli army.
As usual after every targeting of Palestinian civilians, the Israeli army acknowledged in a statement that it bombed the Al-Sousi Tower, claiming that Hamas uses it as a 'command center' for its forces.
Threatening to escalate military action against civilians, the Israeli army concluded its statement by saying: 'The occupation army will continue to operate forcefully and decisively against terrorist organizations in the sector.'
On Friday, the Israeli army destroyed the 'Mushtaha Tower,' a multi-story building in western Gaza City that housed hundreds of Palestinians, located in an area that includes tens of thousands of displaced individuals.
This coincided with the announcement by the Israeli army that it had begun bombing high-rise buildings in Gaza City, claiming they were used by 'Hamas as command and observation centers and for sniping,' which the movement denies.
Human Rights Watch, an international rights organization, stated that since October 2023, Israel has destroyed 88 percent of the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, including homes, and that most displaced Palestinians have no places to live except for schools and some university buildings.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 64,368 deaths and 162,367 injuries among Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, over 9,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 382 Palestinians, including 135 children.
The occupation continues to operate forcefully against terrorist organizations in the sector.
