Trump: The killing of more than 30 hostages in Gaza... and the United States is in deep negotiations with Hamas.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that there is a possibility that some of the detainees in Gaza may have died, confirming that the United States is engaged in "deep negotiations" with Hamas amid an attack by the Israeli occupation.

Trump added to reporters in the Oval Office: "There are some who have died recently, that's what I'm hearing. I hope that's a mistake, but there are more than 30 bodies in these negotiations."

Since October 7, 2023, 251 individuals have been detained, with 47 still held in Gaza. The occupying army claims that 25 of them have been killed, and Tel Aviv is seeking to recover their bodies.

Trump noted in his remarks that there are "about 38 people killed - beautiful young people who have died," before mentioning other numbers ranging from 20 to 30 individuals.

The U.S. President added that the United States is still in negotiations with Hamas, stating: "We are in very deep negotiations with Hamas."

Regarding the detainees held by Hamas, Trump said: "We said release them all now, release them all, and much better things will happen to them. But if you do not release them all, things will be tough and harsh."

On the other hand, Tel Aviv is planning to take control of Gaza City, the largest city in the strip that has already been devastated by the war, and has warned of targeting all high-rise buildings that it believes Hamas is using.
