He added that the world was surprised by the agreement that was achieved on an American paper, with negotiations taking place in Oslo and the signing in Washington.

The Palestinian president addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasizing that "Gaza is experiencing a real famine... those who do not die in the war in Gaza are dying of hunger... the number of those dying of hunger in Gaza is greater than those dying from violence."

Abbas referred to the regional role of Jordan and Egypt, stating that "Jordan and Egypt have an honorable position in preventing displacement from Gaza and the West Bank," adding, "We are working to stop the displacement of the Palestinian people."

He confirmed that "the Palestinian Authority is actively engaging diplomatically to stop the war on Gaza," noting that "we are ready to take over the governance of Gaza and we have the capabilities for that... and we have no objection to an Arab or international partnership in managing Gaza."

He revealed that he agreed with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to withdraw all weapons from the camps, adding, "We are determined to withdraw all Palestinian weapons from Lebanon."
