The Israeli occupation state continues its policy of starvation and deprivation of the besieged Gaza Strip from food and sustenance, a policy that began with the ongoing genocide for nearly two years, and intensified to its utmost levels since March 2025, with the occupation closing all crossings leading to Gaza and preventing the entry of almost any food, medicine, or humanitarian aid.
Under widespread international pressure and global outrage against the deliberate starvation of more than two million Palestinians, the occupation announced on July 25 that it would allow humanitarian aid to be delivered by air to the Gaza Strip, following a wave of criticism. Although the aerial drops of aid serve more to relieve the burden on the participating countries than to solve the famine hitting Gaza, the occupation decided to stop them after just a month, announcing official plans to occupy the city of Gaza.
In 2012, the calorie policy was revealed by the Coordinator of Operations in the Palestinian Territories, a revelation that came after prolonged pressure from the Israeli organization 'Gisha – Legal Center for Freedom of Movement.' An article published by the newspaper 'Haaretz' in 2012 stated that this revelation was about a document called 'Red Lines,' which is a table of the calories received by each individual in the Gaza Strip.
The 'Red Lines' document shows a bureaucratic mechanism aimed at controlling the lives of Palestinians.
