For its part, Israeli sources reported that: "Tensions between the military and political leadership have sharply escalated, and this occurred just during the past week." They added that: "Zamir confronted Netanyahu directly in a recent meeting regarding plans to expand the Gaza war."
Additionally, the sources indicated that: "Zamir urged ministers to consider the ceasefire proposal presented by the mediators, which was accepted by Hamas," highlighting that: "There are ministers who expressed their support for Zamir, including members of the Likud party."
