In the most severe criticism of its kind from within the military institution of the occupation, reserve general in the Israeli occupation army, Isaac Brik, detonated a heavy bomb, asserting that the plan to reoccupy the Gaza Strip is "unattainable" and its results will be "catastrophic" for "Israel".
Brik, known for his sharp criticisms of the performance of the occupation army, warned that any attempt to fully reoccupy the Gaza Strip would be a grave strategic mistake. "Maariv" quoted him saying, "The plan to occupy Gaza is unattainable and will lead to rampant chaos in the occupied interior."
He directly attributed this failure to the state of the ground forces. He explained that "the condition of the ground forces explains why it has not been possible to defeat Hamas".
